A new Christmas tree stand broke and the Radko family Christmas tree came crashing down, destroying nearly all of a precious family ornament collection. Thus begins the story of the Christopher Radko ornament collections. Christopher was determined to replace as many of the ornaments as possible and on a trip to Poland in 1986 he purchased 65 ornaments.
Today these ornaments are produced in several European countries-Poland , Germany , Italy and the Czech Republic . Each ornament is still made the old fashioned way and takes 7 days to complete.
There are hundreds of new designs produced each year and the collector could easily become overwhelmed with the choice of what to collect. Some of the choices include whimsical, traditional, story books styles as well as ornaments supporting charities and groups.
